Mtskheta-Mtianeti

Mtskheta or "Second Jerusalem" is located 25 km from Tbilisi. The history of the city is more than 2500 years old. Recently it was restored with preservation of original and unique style. The main attraction of the city is the oldest cathedral of Svetitskhoveli.

The temple of Jvari with an incredible panorama of the area is on the top of the mountain, near Mtskheta. It is distinguished by its architectural exclusiveness and belongs to the monuments of UNESCO World Heritage. It was here that the first cross of the Illuminator of Georgia, Saint Nina, was erected.

Samtskhe–Javakheti

Vardzia Monastery is a real cave miracle located in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region. Queen Tamar built a complex in the 12th century to protect the Borjomi Gorge.
